Future Care Planning 101 Recorded Workshop

Thinking about the needs of our future selves may bring up negative emotions such as fear, avoidance and sadness.  Yet, learning about important aspects of future care planning can also ease feelings of uncertainty, avail the opportunity for on-going discussions of wishes and exploration of what is possible.

This recorded workshop is for patients who are living with a neurodegenerative disorder, their families, and caregivers. It may also be helpful for those planning for older adulthood or living with chronic illness or disability.  The video below is approximately 40 minutes in length.  Topics introduced include:

  • Important Documents (like Advance Directives)
  • Types of Care (like Aide Service, Adult Day Health, Geriatric Care Management, and Expressive Art Therapists)
  • Types of Residences (like Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Continuing Care Retirement Community)
  • Paying for Care
